About Me
My name is David Martin. I am a husband, father, grandfather, homeowner, and community volunteer. I was born and raised in Edgemere Sparrows Point, Maryland. I have been a Harford County Resident for the last 34 years and I have lived in Maryland my entire life. I married my high school sweetheart, Deborah. We have been married for 42 years. In addition to our son, Christopher, we have a daughter-in-law, Jessica, and 2 grandchildren, Finley Grace, and Hayden Michael and last but not least grand pup Elsie.
I have always been active in my community since the late 1970s with Scouting, coaching football, soccer, and baseball I am a member of Maryland Troopers Association and FOP Lodge 76, the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, Sons of the American Legion Post #47 Joseph L. Davis, and Assistant Director of the American Legion Riders in Havre de Grace. I am on the Board of Directors Member of the Sparrows Point/North Point Historical Society.
I have a diverse background retiring honorably from the Maryland State Police with 20 years of service, working in the private sector and running my own business. I was elected to the Havre de Grace City Council in May of 2015 and I serving in my 4th term. I graduated from the 26th Harford Leadership Academy June 9, 2016. I am a 2018 Graduate of the Academy for Excellence in Local Government from the University of Maryland, School of Public Policy. I have been a member of the Maryland Municipal League Legislative Committee for the past 6 years representing the municipalities of Cecil and Harford Counties in Annapolis. The Past President of the Cecil-Harford Chapter and currently on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Municipal League as Vice President District 10 Cecil-Harford Chapter. I was elected as an Alternate Delegate representing Maryland, District 2 for Republican Nomination Convention in Jacksonville, Florida.
